WELCOME TO LE BOUSQUET
You are now in Lauragais, between Toulouse, the "Ville Rose", and those lesser pink towns, Revel, Lavaur and Castelnaudary. From the hill-top of Loubens-Lauragais you can see the "Montagne Noire" to the north-east, while the southern horizon is entirely made up of the vast panorama of the
Pyrenees.

Imagine you are gliding downhill on our local
wind, the "vent d'autan" which can be seen at work on the undulating fields of wheat and
sunflower, and you will reach our domain of Le Bousquet, where the wind has calmed down, having lost its force on the great trees of our park. |
Walk through the gates into the park and enjoy the cool shade of the gigantic cedars and ancient
oaks. Here, the wind abates, the heat subsides and a restful calm
prevails.

At the end of a boxtree-lined walk, you will discover the peaceful charm of one of those ancient
homesteads, locally known as "Maisons de Maître" with which the Pays de Cocagne
abounds, recalling the prosperous trade of the past. Ours was extensively modified after the Napoleonic wars as shown by the monumental staircase and
chimneys. Its successive owners have left on it their conflicting marks, a mixture of prosperity and
restraint, of functionality and superfluity, of liveliness and calm to which it owes its unusual
charm. All this is reflected in the welcome awaiting you.
The Bousquet stable is also the home of passionately loved horses. They provide a rich and exciting life. At certain periods of the year the place is a beehive of
activity. Thus, in the early days of spring, the newborn foals take their first steps in the paddocks on their clumsy spindly legs. Every
morning, the two- and three-year olds can be seen at work from your bedroom
window.
The animal kingdom is present everywhere: pheasants, hares, squirrels, partridges and thrushes pay us visits round the pond in company with a few
herons. Occasionally, a hind will be seen or will leave their footprints as they take advantage of the rebirth of vegetation on a 10 hectare protected park.
Finally, Le Bousquet is also the home of artists and musicians who have found here the most favourable conditions for their work and inspiration.
